Another Chinese Auction basket of cards

I promised it wouldn't be three weeks before the next post! I wouldn't want anyone to contemplate another search party! I am most thankful for awesome blog friends like you!

During my blog absence, I put together another "basket" of cards for a Chinese Auction that was taking place at a benefit dinner. The dinner took place the same weekend my Aunt and Uncle were here. I felt making a basket was the least I could do since we wouldn't be attending.

This basket had a variety of cards much like the last basket. Since the benefit was close to the upcoming holidays, I included some holiday cards in this basket. Ready to take a look?

A wedding card!

Two birthday cards.
The owl and the frog were cut from the Create A Critter cartridge.
The cards measure 4x5 and 4x6...if that helps you picture the size of the cuts.

A get well card. Isn't he cute? Feeling ruff?  he he he
This card is a 4x5 card and the dog was cut using the Create A Critter cartridge.
I don't remember the size of the cuts on these cards. There was one day where I cut a bunch of things out so I would have some ready when it was time to make cards. It works great for making cards, but not so much when it comes to having information for a blog post.

These two cards are blank on the inside. These two and the wedding card were made using die cuts made by K & Company. Those packages of die cuts are a great way to make cards! I have been waiting for them to go on sale at JoAnn's and then walk in armed with a coupon for an extra discount. YEP! I'm that girl!
The mouse in the tea cup stamp is from Stampin' Up.

Two winter/Christmas cards.
The snowman and cardinal are made by K & Company.
The paper is from a stack I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

A look at the inside of the winter/Christmas cards.

The Thanksgiving cards.
The turkey stamp is by Stampabilities.
The paper is from the stash (Do you believe me that I have a paper problem??)

The inside of the turkey cards.

All the cards were put in this bowl, along with some stuffer and then wrapped in plastic!
I hope the cards help make someone's day!
I also send well wishes to the person (and her family) the benefit was for.

One more look at the whole thing:

For those of you that read about the first basket...
Our friend has finished her treatments and has received good news from the doctor.
Thanks for the prayers and kind words!

Thanks for stopping by!
What kinds of things do you hope to see when you buy tickets for a Chinese Auction??
(we recently won a prize at one, that post is coming soon)
Hugs!

Moo-chas Gracias!

Hi Everyone!  This is just a quick post. It has been awhile since I've shared a card so I went looking through my pictures that haven't made it to the blog yet and found this one. It has been awhile since I made it, so I don't remember the details. I guess that means this one is intended to be more inspirational than anything!

The cow is from the Create A Critter cartridge. Have I mentioned I love this cartridge?
The sentiment is computer generated. I left the inside blank.

Moo-chas Gracias (thank you) to my faithful few!!!  The good news is I have made a new card and will share it this week!!! There are also lots of pictures from around the garden to share and a new pallet project!!!!

I hope everyone is well!!!

HUGS!!!

A Bridal Shower Game idea

Hey! How is everyone? I've been doing some blog contemplating. I guess I have had a hard time posting lately because I felt it needed to be a post about something we have created (the name and all). I've decided that it really will be ok to post about things that aren't always creative too...hoping that is ok.

Today's post is a creative post. This post has been waiting for yesterday to come and go. If you remember the bridal shower gift I posted about last month (found here), well that was part one. Part two took place yesterday. Steph, yep the one I always talk about, {love her} is in the wedding. She came across this idea on Pinterest and wanted to adapt it ...

The idea is off Craftaholics Anonymous and her blog can be found here

Steph wanted to do tiaras and something that was more personal to the groom than a mustache.
We looked through my Cricut Cartridges and decided on a fireman's helmet since the groom is a fireman.

Pink and green tiaras for the bride.
Pink and green are her colors.

Fire helmets for the groom.

The Bride and Groom were asked the same questions.
The question and an answer was given to those in attendance.
If you thought the answer was the Bride's answer, you raised your tiara --
If you thought the answer was the Groom's answer, you raised the helmet.

Both cuts are off the Create A Critter Cartridge.

Cute huh? I was not in attendance at this shower. We went greenhouse hopping with my Mom this weekend. That is a post in itself. We had fun. Anywho. I haven't seen any picture of the tiaras/helmets in use. If I do I will pass them along. Perhaps we can get Steph, or Nicole, or one of the girls,  to post some to the facebook page. ;)

I hope everyone is well. Thanks for stopping by!

Create A Critter Pig Birthday Card

If you follow on a regular basis, I know you are surprised I made another card with the Create A Critter cartridge. Ha ha ha ha ha! Did you at least crack a smile? I hope so!!!!

I needed a card for a good friend of ours.  She likes pigs, so the decision of what was going on the card wasn't very hard!

Here is the layout of my Cricut Mat...

Page 28 of the handbook. Some notes...

The end result!

The paper behind the pig was white and I ran it through my Texture Boutique with a Birthday folder and then rubbed a pink ink pad across it for the color. I love adding a little something to my envelopes. Here I added a Changito {I love that monkey}

I love love love comments and try to respond to them all (if your account is set up so I can). I look forward to hearing from you.

Head over heels for you...Create A Critter Turtle

March 1st! Where does the time go? Tomorrow is March 2nd, which is Dr. Seuss' birthday. Anyone doing anything special with their kids for Dr. Seuss? I'm hoping to do a couple Dr. Seuss things for you, but that is dependent on finishing a card order tonight. If nothing else I will put together a fun web-based post about Dr. Seuss!

I think the turtle from Create A Critter is cute. Ok, ok! Which ones aren't cute?  I know, right? So, let's see. Today I thought I would share another cute cut from the CAC cartridge.

I cut the turtle and layers out...

I ran his shell through my Sizzix Texture Boutique. I also used foam squares to give his shell some depth.
What you can kind of see in the above picture is I cut his head off. /gulp. Poor thing. I regret having not done this post sooner. I believe there was some thinking involved to make the next step happen the right way. I'm very sorry that I don't remember or didn't take notes.

The card was going to say Head over heels for you...so he needed beheaded only to get his head back in a different way. I still felt bad.

The sentiment is computer generated.

"Turtley in love with you" would be another cute one don't you think?

What crafty things are you up to? Thanks for stopping by!!!

10 cards for a Chinese Auction

Happy Friday (or whatever day of the week it is when you read this) Everyone!!! The sun is shining and it is very spring looking outside! Jynx found herself a sunny spot in the bedroom and take a nap in the sun!  Lucky little fluffkin!!!

I mentioned awhile back a friend and coworker has been diagnosed with colon cancer. A group of people have pulled together to have a benefit spaghetti dinner this weekend with a Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction. I made a card basket for the Chinese Auction.

There are a couple Cricut Cuts and a lot of K&Company die cuts!!!!  Let's take a look!!!

All 10 cards

I needed a basket. Sister #5 had given me this chicken feeder for my kitchen.
It was sitting on my church pew and I needed a basket of some sort.
The chicken feeder looked like it would get the job done.
I'm sure hoping she won't mind since it is for a good cause. (Sister #5 is a coworker also)

Now, I obviously have some things to learn about wrapping these things up, but it gets the job done.
I attached a piece of paper listing what is inside and some contact information.
Now we have a 'basket' o'cards ready for auction.

Everything I have read or heard is leaning toward the fact the show of support is going to be amazing this weekend! Not sure if she will read this, but Brandi we love you and you have a bigger support group than you  could have imagined Buddy!!!!!! {hugs and prayers}

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Please leave some kind words either about the cards or for Brandi.
We are linking up at:
Sunday's Best Linky Party!

HOLY COW! It's your birthday!

So I started this post the other day. I was trying to figure out how I am going to edit my pictures once picnik goes away.
I don't want to learn another way, but I have to. There are so many choices. I uploaded a couple pictures to Flickr and found out I could make a blog post straight from the photo.  That is great if it is going to be a one photo post.
How many one photo posts have I done?  Back to the drawing board I will go.  When I figure out something that works for me I will be sure to pass it on.

I wanted to share a birthday card.  The cut came from none other than the Create A Critter cartridge.  I have used this cow on a couple birthday cards now.  It is a fun cut! (but then which cuts on CAC aren't fun?)  A friend of mine asked if I could make a birthday card for her.  She was making a "HOLY COW" cake for the recipient and wanted a card that was similar.
Here is the card (and the photo was uploaded using Flickr)

I don't know what is going to happen when I hit post, please bear with me!!!****
The text between the stars was uploaded with the photo. Always something to learn!!! I was going to delete it but then thought it would be nice to share what happens when you hit the blog button from Flickr.

This next photo is the inside of the card and is also stored at Flickr. I used the url of the photo to add it to this post.  There was a great amount of frustration and confusion the other day which is why the post never got finished until today. Here's the inside of the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out the Create A Critter Cow birthday card!
I hope you all have had a great weekend so far!!!!

See you soon!!!!

Four cards, one cut!

It did something here today it hasn't done much of this winter. It snowed. Kinda crazy. The sun is shining now and everything appears so bright!

I have four cards to share with you. A lady I work with asked if I could make her some simple cards with a white dog.

It was amazing to me how much just a piece of paper changes the mood/tone of a card.

Take a look.  The dog is from, yep!, Create A Critter.

The cards are all A7 size cards

All cards are blank inside so Nancy can personalize them for her needs.

The paper on the first three cards is from the DCWV Lemon Flower Matstack.
The paper on the card below is from the DCWV the Tradewinds Matstack.

Simple but fun.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

You're dino-mite! Create A Critter Valentine #7

This post is short and sweet! This card uses the dinosaur found on page 50 of the Create A Critter handbook.

The card is a 4x5 card.
The background paper is from the All About Boys DCWV stack.
The sentiment was made by using stamps from a couple Paper Studio sets.
I cut the dino and all three of his layers - 4 cuts total.
I think this would make a great birthday card for a boy too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a dino-mite weekend!!!

We'll Owl-ways be friends. Create A Critter Valentine #6

Hi Everyone! I'm back with another Create A Critter Valentine! This time I am sharing the owl. There are so many options for this little guy. I went simple. The owl is found on page 25 of the Create A Critter Handbook.
The cards in this post are different sizes and all paper came from my stash. Here are the different cards. While each card has a different look, the owl was cut at the same size of 3.5 inches.

I did make the cuts for the nose and feet. I decided I didn't like them for this project.
I used glitter glue for the nose.

I cut the main cut and layers 1 and 2.

I used a couple stamp sets to come up with the sentiment on some cards.

I used Word and our printer to make the sentiments for other cards.

The insides of all cards were stamped with Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will leave a comment and let me know you were here!

'til next time ~ Jen
