An any time sorta card!

Happy Friday Everyone! We made it! The nice thing about this Friday? The humidity is gone! Woo hoo!!!!
I can tell you the garden has loved the hazy, hot, and humid. The J's...not so much!

I had mentioned I made a card. I even mentioned I wanted to share it soon. I am sharing!!! Sometimes it is the small things in life, right?

I used the Campin' Critters cartridge to make this card. All cuts were done at 4 inches. I made this card for  my Dad. The outside sentiment makes this card extremely versatile. Ready to take a peek?

I used my Gypsy. I can't believe it has almost been a year since I found her at a yard sale!!! What a birthday present! That post can be found here.

For those of you that are Cricut Wise...the mat is an off brand mat I picked up at my local craft store.

I like it pretty well, far better than the newer Cricut mats.

The paper is laid out to make the beaver cut found on page 27 of the handbook.

I used my Martha Stewart Custom Stamp Setting kit to make the sentiment.

It would have been MUCH faster to use the computer. Perhaps, just maybe, I will think of that the next time!

Isn't that versatile? It could be a thank you card, an I love you card, a congratulations card.

You get my drift.

I made it as a birthday card and father's day card for my Dad.

I didn't get his birthday card made in time and I didn't get it made in time for Father's Day either.

/sigh

I DID use the computer for the inside of the card. The inside says...

"We're sorry we've been so dam busy in the garden that your birthday card and Father's Day card are now combined into one. Happy Birthday! Happy Father's Day! Happy Every Day!

ha ha!!! Get it? We WOOD like to say and we've been so dam busy and the beaver on the front.

I know you got it. Sometimes I just crack myself up!!!

I should have cut a bunch of logs to put on the inside of the card.

Oh well.

I think it turned out pretty cute. The cut turned out amazing and I am pretty sure I will be cutting this busy beaver quite a few more times. He was quite easy to put together!!!

How are you cock-a-doodle-doing?

Hi Everyone! I made these cards awhile ago and keep forgetting to share them! They were a set of cards made for Jim's Mom to give to a friend of hers.

The chicken was cut from the Country Life cartridge. The cut is on page 44. I did some inking around the edges (I know you are SHOCKED!). I am sorry I don't have more photos in the cards in stages, but sometimes I get so busy I forget to take pictures. I think everyone can appreciate that.

Here is a look at the chickens in the early stages.

Then we skip a BUNCH of stages.

I used the computer to make the "how are you..." sentiment.

All paper is from The Paper Studio Farm Fresh stack.

I stamped a crow or raven (you decide) on the back of each envelope.

I used my Martha Stewart Custom Stamp set to make the 'Lone Hickory Farm' stamp.

The chickens were adhered with foam dots for dimension.

All cards are blank on the inside.

I wish I could offer more details. I guess we'll consider this one an inspirational post?

Hang in there card

A friend of ours is going through one of those rough patches in life. She has found out her husband hasn't been faithful. My heart aches and breaks for her daily. *i don't talk about it much these days, but i have been in her shoes. i have felt this hurt. i have felt these feelings of where do i go from here...this isn't what i had in mind when this relationship began...and to top it all off-so close to the holidays. these days, this time in my life is referred to as my 'former life.' Jim likes to call it my dark ages. in comparison, he is so right. I AM IN SUCH A BETTER PLACE NOW and am most thankful for Jim and our amazing support group of friends and family! I am also thankful for you, my readers!! Together with our friends and family I have this amazing support group to do things I have wanted to do for a long time. Enough about me. I know that our friend is hurting inside, silently at times because she thinks people are tired of hearing about it. I thought I would make her a little pick me up, a hug in an envelope sort of thing, a hug she can take anywhere if she chooses, something she tuck in her purse and if it is a bad moment - she can pull it out and be reminded that she is awesome and that she is a woman which means she has been given the tools to survive this and be even more incredible than she already is (that is what we women do)
I started with these pieces...

The paper is from The Paper Studio. The monkey and all the pieces were cut at 3 inches using the Create A Critter cartridge!

I stamped the inside with the following:

The stamp is from the Fiskars Laugh with me Quote set. It has some great quotes on it. I also included a note on separate piece of paper. I decided the note was personal and if she wanted to display the card, she shouldn't have to also display her business.

While the supplies were out I made a second card. The inside of this card is still blank so it can be personalized at a later date. I should have made a couple more. My TWO scrap drawers are overflowing with paper. Once the holidays are over I am going to try to make some cards or projects using the scrap drawers. It is crazy how much paper is in there!!! anywho, here's the second card...

I used my MS customizable stamp set to make the "hang in there." I am pretty happy with how they turned out. The monkey is as cute as can be. 

Our friend sent me the sweetest email after she got her card. I have gone back and forth about whether or not to share it here and have decided not too. Let's just say I won't stop making cards anytime soon!!!!

I love love love the Create A Critter cartridge. I look at the other cartridges I own and feel bad for them now and then. :)

Eat More Ham!

The Halloween mess scraps and supplies are put away. Out of sight out of mind right? At least for now. I do have a stack of cards sitting here waiting for me to mail them. I don't understand why they don't jump right into those envelopes and address themselves.  Oh well.

Some of our wonderful friends and family are already asking Christmas cards. (I do like how they think ahead!! That means if I am rushed it is MY fault) Before I started on Christmas cards I HAD to make some turkey cards!  That I did! I will also be making more because the ones that I had been working on are all gone. YAY ME!!!!!! The turkeys or is it turkies, no one seems to be able to tell me. This is how they started!

The cuts are from Create A Critter! Love that cartridge!!!! Now let's take a look at the finished ones shall we?

Cute huh? The stamp on the envelope is from Lawn Fawn, as is the inside sentiment. The inside says Happy Turkey Day. You can see that stamp in this post. His sign was cut from the Walk In My Garden cartridge.

I was all excited about this product at the store the night I bought it.  I then brought it home and wondered if I had made a foolish purchase. It definitely wasn't foolish. I made my own stamp, that can't be foolish! I have two other stamps ready to go. One of them is for the Halloween cards that are STILL sitting here outside of their envelopes! :)
